day 20 of the experiment

At the first glance the last 10 days were not very successful. The views have become less than the 10 days before.

It seems like it is not a good moment for this experiment. Or have I something wrong?

I shared this tracks a lot less than the 10 days before. I not produce a new track on this channel for the last four weeks. And I'm a beginner in social marketing.

But the growth of the channel is faster in the last 10 days than the time before. More views on the channel and more subscribers per day - an increase of 10 - 15% per day. 

I think that's a good result.

What I have done?

I registered in several music forums and I registered on Pinterest, Instagram and any other social media networks. I pin the link to my channel in my profile and started some new threads, with a link to my channel.

A great tool for me are the community in G+. You can send your link to the channel or video and get response from users directly. This is really great.

What are the most important facts for a good ranking on youtube part1?

 

More than two weeks I read a lot of blogs, articles and information about a good ranking on youtube.

The informations are very different. Some authors write this is important, other poeple say other facts are important. I read and watched a lot of youtube in the "Youtube creators playbook", Youtube Creator Academy" and so on...

Ok let's start with the facts:

 

facts for ranking on youtube

- title tag relevance of the video

- total video likes
- views
- how long your video is viewed per view
- channel views
- the number of subscribers

- how long the channel already exists

- percentage of likes to views

- total channel views

what should you do?

1. The most important fact is a high quality video with an interesting content

(I think this not a new knowledge to everyone)

- use HD quality min.

2. Title of the video file that you upload

before you upload a video, you should give the video file a good name with a description of your video content and the most important keywords - so Youtube knows from the begin the content of the video and category, so the video can better listed by the content

3. Title in youtube

the title on the video site is one of the most important facts, use only a description and keywords about the content of the video.

4. The description

Youtube says that the first sentences the most important are, cause this is the visible part of the description in the search request. But try to find out the countries where your videos was watched and try to translate the description in the most important languages.

5. keywords, metatags

This arent't very important, but every part seems to be important enough for Youtube. So try to find good keywords. Use google and youtube search...look at the autocomplete words for keywords...

What I did the last 10 days?

I read a lot, many blogs about online marketing, google ranking, youtube ranking, viral marketing, link building and a lot more. A good recent articel about link building you can find here.

This week I began with link building. I don't know how good it works with youtube videos. But I think it's worh a try.

I registered in three big music forums and set the links to the videos in some threads and in my profile. I don't know how it works, how fast it works and how long it works. I look forward.

That was one of those moments. I know my wife doesn't like metal, so I put myself at piano that I play very rarely and composed a track for her. I'm not a good piano player and needed any hours to record the melody from my head. And this is the result.

She like it - that's makes me happy

Why some videos have a good ranking and some not?

 

Thats a question, what I hope to try to answer the next few weeks.

Some poeple asked why this backing track has so many views.

 

And the next backing track on my channel so few views.

Untill now I have no idea. I never red about SEO, ranking and co. But I think it's time to do this. I tryed to give every video on youtube a good title, a good description and optimal tags. But why one track has more than ten times more views than an other, with the same description, the same title and tags?

The backing track No10 was the first track where I used a description in several languages. I took a look at the analytics and saw the countries with most view. So I tryed with the google translator the description in all these languages to write. I think the translations aren't very well, but it seems to work. Ok that's one reason.

But what more can I do?

I will start a trial for 3 month with 2 selected backing tracks on my youtube channel.
I'm curious about the result.

Every week I will invest 3-4 hours for reading about strategies and to use the new knowledge for this two backing tracks.

After the experiment, I hope to see some results and see what works and what does not. And I hope three month is a good period of time for this.

my favourit chord on guitar?

Sometimes I red the questions, what my favourit chord is.

I don't know. I think one chord makes no music. And a feeling transport in music with one chord is difficult. I use a lot of chords and some chords I don't know the name of the chords.

I use so many chords: minor chords, major chords, powerchords... Music is feeling and not a science for me. I know notes and a lot of theorie, but I only use tabs and my mood to write songs or backing tracks.

This a one chord I like.
keynote + quint + ninth (power chord + ninth)
In this picture is it E B and #F
Often I use it for clean pickings. But I only use it in combination with other chords.

Sometimes I combine this chord with this one.
keynote + quint + tenth (power chord + tenth)
In this picture it is E B and G
The chord I often to use for clean pickings too. But also it sounds great with a fat distortion of an amp in a break or for the melodic line.

resolutions for 2015

My resolutions for 2015

 

music

I don't know if I will produce so many backing tracks like in 2014, but I will try make a lot of good backing tracks on my channel. And in 1-2 tracks I will stay in front of the camera to show how I play...
I think about to make more tracks with only drums, or only bass, or if I continue to publish only complete tracks...I don't know yet.
Steinberg Cubase Pro 8  is a very big wish of my this year.

I will write this blog this year. It's a good practice for me to write and think in english language, where I have a lot of deficits.
Some topics seemed to be very interesting for any poeple I see in the statistics. Youtube and music producing have had the biggest response. So I will take closer look here in this blog.

 

private

In the private sector I have any resolutions for the new year. Looking with my girlfriend for an apartement together, go on to be a good father for my daughter, many new songs writing for my band...and so on.
